Accountants with 1 to 3 Years of Experience
Staff accountants should have strong communication, organization and analytical skills, in addition to proficiency with Microsoft Office applications. Firms generally look for candidates who possess or who are working toward a certified public accountant (CPA) accreditation. A bachelor's degree in accounting or finance is essential.
Typical duties vary by practice area but may include:
Reviewing the adequacy of systems and testing to verify accuracy of data provided.
Conducting evaluations of initial internal controls.
Preparing tax returns. Reconciling general ledger tax accounts.
Providing assistance to senior accounting staff.
